Europa Distribution is back in Bulgaria to organise its traditional workshop during the 20th Sofia Meetings (22-26 March), at the 27th Sofia International Film Festival. About 20 independent distributors, coming from all over Europe, will participate in this insightful workshop on “Effective Communication in Professional Interactions, Team Management and Negotiation” and will also take part in the Sofia Meetings’ activities.

Efficient communication is a powerful tool to manage different contexts such as negotiation and professional interactions, which represent the daily work of distributors. It’s a specific way to relate to other professionals and offers keys to cope with stress, time, needs, emotions and different personality types. Thanks to this specific workshop, which is built on theory, exercises, sharing of experience and situation analysis, attending distributors will identify the most effective styles of communicating and negotiating according to a specific situation and learn how to improve their communication skills in order to acquire, sell and promote films at best. The workshop will take place during two and a half days, from Thursday 23 March to Saturday 25 March and will be led by Patrick Zacharis, Business Coach & Sustainable Talents Developer.

Attending distributors will also participate in the Sofia Meetings activities: market screenings of Bulgarian and Balkan films, meetings and professionals’ networking events.

The workshop on Efficient communication in Professional interactions, Team management and Negotiation is part of a series of training and networking activities that Europa Distribution offers to independent distributors during the whole year, in partnership with several international film markets & festivals in Europe.

Europa Distribution will organise many more events in 2023, discussing with distributors, various film professionals and experts about the specific challenges of releasing and promoting independent European films. After the workshop in Sofia, the next activity (panel, workshop and market) will lead ED members to Udine in Italy in the scope of Focus Asia, with obviously a strong focus on Asian films.
