synopsis

Marie (12) is an excellent student and an outstanding cellist who dreams of studying at a renowned music school and becoming a musician some day. Nobody knows, however, that Marie suffers from an disease affecting her ability to see. Although her sight is good enough to live a more or less normal life at the moment, Marie becomes increasingly aware that she must one day live her life in complete darkness. When her worried parents contemplate sending her to a school for the visually impaired, Marie realises her lifelong dream may be at risk. Together with her classmate Victor, she attempts to defy her fate: she will help him with his homework if he becomes her eyes. Le Coeur en braille is a story of two teenagers who are prepared to battle the entire world in order to protect each other.
