Lise is a French filmmaker on a cross-country trip through snowy Canada from the east coast to the Pacific. Her journey takes her to Alexandra, a doctor in a remote outpost, and the last girlfriend of Lisa’s ex-husband, a world-famous artist, clown, and performer who has vanished. Each of the women tries to understand how the love of their life could love the other. Each grapples with the question of how to coexist with an artist’s neuroses.
