SWEPT AWAY

by Guy Ritchie

synopsis

In this remake of the 1975 Italian comedy, Madonna stars as a rich, self-centered woman who is used to having her own way. The tables turn when she finds herself shipwrecked on a remote island with a slovenly sailor under her employ (played by Adriano Giannini, son of Giancarlo Giannini from the original film). Cut off from society, he reverses their roles, stripping her of pride and vanity and controlling her completely. Their relationship takes another twist when she finds herself falling in love with him.
