SARA’S NOTEBOOK

by Norberto López Amado

synopsis

Laura has spent years looking for her sister Sara who went missing in the depths of the jungle in the Congo. Neither the NGO she works for, nor the embassy, have news on her whereabouts until a photo appears of Sara in a mining town. Apparently, Sara is being held captive by The Hawk, the fearsome rebel leader who controls the mafias behind the prized mineral coltan. Despite the difficulties, Laura decides to travel to Kampala and to follow in her sister’s footsteps on a treacherous journey into the heart of the African jungle, an area run by warlords. Her odyssey, plagued by scuffles with soldiers and raids, as well as the threats only the jungle can provide, takes her to the rebel stronghold where she is sure she will find her sister…
