FRED Film Radio présente "FRED at School"

Cet article est disponible en anglais.

FRED Film Radio, the multilingual station dedicated to film festivals and independent films, has announced a new initiative dedicated to building audiences for European cinema. FRED at School will bring films to secondary-school attendees (14-16 years of age) using the medium of radio. The programme was selected by Creative Europe as a supported project in the framework of its Audience Development/Film Literacy initiative.

From January to May 2015, students in eight countries (the UK, Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Croatia, Romania and Iceland) will simultaneously watch four European films from the selection of the European Parliament’s LUX Prize on a VoD platform.

The screenings will be embedded in a film appreciation course developed with FRED at School’s 14 European partners, among them three universities. They will also monitor the programme’s success and effectiveness through online questionnaires throughout the school year.

As part of the programme, students will produce radio features that will include the directors or other representatives of the selected films. These features will be streamed as part of FRED Film Radio’s regular programme offering.

Last but not least, all participating students will have the chance to vote for the FRED at School Award for Best Film. FRED at School will be fully accessible to hearing- and visual-impaired students through subtitles and scene-by-scene audio descriptions via smartphone apps.
