Cet article est disponible en anglais.

Fred at School is an educational audience development project promoting film literacy and awareness of European films at secondary schools in eight European countries. The “Building New Audiences for European Cinema” conference held in London on 2 July will showcase the results and achievements of its first edition.

Four European films shortlisted from the European Parliament's LUX Prize competition had previously been selected and presented to participating schools in the eight countries that have signed up to Fred at School: the UK, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Croatia, Romania and Iceland.

Fred at School is supported by the European Union’s Creative Europe programme and has been selected for the Audience Development call.

Alongside an introduction to Fred at School by the creators and partners, the presentation of the initial results of a film literacy research study will also take place. Finally, the prize for the Best Film, as selected by the students, will be awarded.

Attendance at the conference on 2 July is free, but registration is requested here.
