Cine Europa va lancer plus de dix films européens d'ici la fin de l'année

Cine Europa, not to be confused with your favourite European film-industry website, is a new Romanian distributor with plans to conquer local audiences and cinemas with a rich and diverse slate of European films: more than ten, mostly French, productions are scheduled for release until the end of 2015.

Cine Europa is represented by Csilla Nagy, who says that the new releases will fill a gap in the Romanian film-distribution landscape. “There are several distributors releasing European films in Romania, but they focus on arthouse and festival films. We want to release both mainstream and arthouse films,” Nagy told Cineuropa. The company started activity at the end of August with Laurent Tirard’s Nicholas on Holiday [+lire aussi :

, both selected at this year’s Venice Film Festival,” said Nagy, adding that Cine Europa will have a close partnership with the 19th edition of the French Film Festival, which screens dozens of French productions in Bucharest and several other Romanian cities at the beginning of November.

Besides Cine Europa, other Romanian distributors focusing on European films include Transilvania Film, Independenţa Film, Clorofilm and Asociaţia Macondo. A new player, Taylor Projects, will release the Dutch romantic comedy Tuscan Wedding [+lire aussi :
