The Limburg Film Fund has officially been launched this month, following the creation of the Limburg Film Commission in 2015. With an annual budget of €500,000, the new fund aims to stimulate the film and audiovisual industries in the southernmost region of the Netherlands.
The Limburg Film Commission, which manages the fund, is working in close cooperation with Cinesud, a non-profit organisation for the stimulation, guidance and promotion of the media industry in the heart of the Meuse-Rhine Euroregion.
Anticipating the existence of a new fund, some feature-length films have already been shot in the province of Limburg in the last two years. Among them are Secrets of War [+lire aussi :

The new fund is expected to contribute to boosting not only regional production, but also Dutch production in general, which recorded encouraging figures in 2015, with a total of 72 Dutch titles (including documentaries and minority co-productions) reaching local cinemas.
