fiche film], will have its world premiere in the Toronto International Film Festival's Discovery section.

The film focuses on 18-year-old boy Andrej (Matej Zemljič, seen earlier this year in the Karlovy Vary entry History of Love [+lire aussi :

fiche film]), who ends up in a youth detention centre. He has to fight for his place in a group of boarders led by Željko (Timon Šturbej), who soon takes the newcomer under his wing. Under the pressure of the new environment, Andrej has to ensure that his secret does not come to light.

The cast also includes Gašper Markun, Rosana Hribar, Blaž Setnikar, Lovro Zafred and Lea Cok. For cinematographer Rok Nagode, editor Sara Gjergek, and producers Andraž Jerič and Jerca Jerič, of Temporama, Consequences is also a feature-film debut. 

Other production companies on board are Zwinger Film, NuFrame and 100, and WIDE Management has the international rights. 

Meanwhile, the Czech-Slovenian-Polish-Slovak co-production Winter Flies [+lire aussi :

fiche film], which garnered its Slovenian-born, Prague-based filmmaker, Olmo Omerzu, the Best Director Award at Karlovy Vary, will screen in Toronto's Contemporary World Cinema programme.

The last Slovenian title to be shown at Toronto was Damjan Kozole's Slovenian Girl [+lire aussi :

fiche film] in 2009. The film went on to screen at 70 festivals and was distributed in 30 countries, including the USA, where it was released under the title A Call Girl.
