The Festival delle Storie ended with an awards ceremony for the three Solinas Award competitions, an open-air story workshop that took place on the Sardinian island of La Maddalena.

The first stage of the Franco Solinas Award for Best Script was won (ex aequo) by both Di sabbia by Claudia de Angelis and Ma’ by Pier Lorenzo Pisano. The Documentary Award for Cinema, in collaboration with Apollo 11, went to Presenza by Chiara Marotta, while Una famiglia normale by Loris Giuseppe Nese received a special mention. The SIAE - Italian Society of Authors and Publishers, awarded the prize and development grants.

A surprise tie for the final prize: winning the Solinas Experimenta Serie Award in collaboration with Rai FictionwasMi hanno sputato nel milkshake by Carolina Cavalli and Upanddown by Andrea Simonetti and Gaetano Colella. A special mention went to Night Out by Laura Grimaldi and Pietro Seghetti. Since the two projects share a high level of originality and freshness, the Solinas Experimenta Serie Award jury, in collaboration with Rai Fiction, decided to assign not one but two production prizes. The prize consists of €1,000 option to create a TV pilot, with a maximum budget of €120,000.

More than 120 producers, screenwriters, directors and film distributors participated in "story building" for three days. "2018 marks the real return of the Solinas Award to La Maddalena," highlighted the director Annamaria Granatello," a creative workshop that produces content and formats for films, documentaries, TV series, thanks to the joint work of screenwriters, directors and producers who have gone into schools here on the island, have met citizens and are trying to create a network of creative artists and institutions that can make our audiovisual sector stand out all over the world. The focus is now on continuity and growth and we’re hoping to collaborate with the Region of Sardinia and Sardinia Film Commission Foundation."
