EAVE - European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Since its creation in 1988, the organisation has become an essential stepping stone for producers and industry professionals all over the world looking to advance their careers and get the necessary training to progress in the cinema industry.

EAVE's innovativeness has been reflected not only in its international scope – with its current presence in Europe, the Middle East, Russia and the GIS states, Latin America, Asia, and lately Africa, thanks to training initiatives such as EAVE Puentes and Ties That Bind – but also in the quality of the work produced by EAVE producers. A vast number of films produced by EAVE graduates have achieved worldwide recognition.

In these 30 years, EAVE has trained almost 2400 film professionals around the world with an almost 50/50 gender ratio. Throughout the years, the workshops have taken place in almost 90 different countries and involved over 600 experts from around the world. In the last decade alone, 385 projects have been developed at EAVE's Producers Workshop, with over 100 projects already produced and distributed worldwide. Festivals have also recognized EAVE's producers by including their projects in Top Festival line-ups. Specifically, EAVE producers have achieved 2247 festivals selections in Berlin, Toronto, Cannes, and Karlovy Vary… Almost 500 of them have won prizes in the most important festivals around the world. In terms of awards, EAVE film projects have been nominated 23 times for the Oscars, where they have obtained 6 Statuettes, plus 16 Golden Globe nominations, and won 3 times.

With such impressive numbers, EAVE is kicking off their 30 Years celebration campaign, in the context of the 3rd and final edition of this year's EAVE Producers’ Workshop taking place from 22 to 29 October in the city of Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, in northern Spain. Organized in partnership with AGADIC – Xunta de Galicia, 70 leading international decision-makers will gather in the Cidade da Cultura venue to meet the 50 top producing talents from 36 countries and discover the 25 fiction and documentary projects developed during this year’s workshop. The week will feature special events around outreach, producer-director relationship, TV series, the financial implications of the digital shift and innovative ways of developing, financing, producing, promoting and distributing audiovisual content.

Two plenary sessions will be live-streamed on EAVE's and Cineuropa's Facebook pages. The first one, Beyond Movies – New Media Story Telling, will offer a look towards the future of storytelling, financing, distributing and the marketing of audiovisual content. Various speakers will explore the opportunities afforded by the digital shift, in an encounter moderated by Cineuropa editor-in-chief Domenico La Porta (Belgium), Studio Bagel and Canal+'s Lorenzo Benedetti (France), photographer Karim Ben Khelifa (Germany) and Atlas V's Arnaud Colinart (France). The second one, Producer – Director Relationships, will be broached by Israel Film Fund director Katriel Schory, who will share his insight on this issue.

Stay tuned to our social networks and don't miss the live streaming of the sessions, which will take place on 23 October from 15.30 to 17.30 (first session) and from 18.00 to 19.30 (second session).
