The European Film Promotion's LA Screenings – Oscar Entries From Europe will take place from 7–20 November. For the first time, EFP will be screening 25 European Oscar submissions at two venues – the Dick Clark Screening Room and the Laemmle Monica – to provide more opportunities for Academy members, journalists, US distributors and international buyers to get an extensive overview of European cinema's diversity.

Many of the 25 entries have made a splash at major festivals around the world, particularly in Cannes (Benedikt Erlingsson's Woman at War [+lire aussi :

), among many others. The screenings are designed to highlight European productions among the 87 submissions for consideration in the Academy's Best Foreign Language Film category. Quite a few filmmakers and actresses and actors will be seizing the opportunity to present their films in person. Click here for full list of films and screenings.

In the meantime, EFP is also highlighting European cinema at the American Film Market (31 October–7 November) by granting Film Sales Support (FSS) for the promotion and marketing of 18 European films totalling more than €51,000 and by running the Europe! Umbrella for European world sales companies. EFP's activities kick off with the annual Europe! Cocktail, a tailor-made business and networking event, welcoming buyers and sales agents attending the AFM and European filmmakers participating in the EFP LA Screenings.

At this year's AFM, 13 sales agents from eight European countries are presenting their line-ups of more than 68 productions (click here for the full list of attending companies and films), and 18 films from 15 European countries have been awarded FSS for additional promotion and marketing measures (click here for the full list of films receiving FSS)

Both initiatives are being financially backed by the Creative Europe – MEDIA Programme of the European Union and the participating EFP member organisations.
