The 72nd British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs) ended with The Favourite [+lire aussi :

winning seven of the 12 nominations it was up for, including Best British Film, but the royal period comedy’s Greek director, Yorgos Lanthimos, remained seated as Alfonso Cuarón picked up Best Director, and Roma picked up Best Film, adding to the Best Foreign Film title won by the black-and-white drama earlier in the evening.

It was a good night to be a British actress. Olivia Colman won Best Actress for her performance as 18th-century monarch Anne, Queen of Great Britain, and Rachel Weisz picked up Best Supporting Actress ahead of her The Favourite co-star Emma StoneThe Favourite also won Outstanding British Film, Best Original Screenplay, and prizes for make-up and hair, costume design and production design.
