Stefania Sandrelli and Aleksandr Sokurov will take the lead in the 20th edition of the Lecce European Film Festival, which is set to take place between 8 and 13 April 2019. The iconic actress of Italian cinema and the great Russian director - the winner of the Golden Lion at the 68th Venice Film Festival - will each receive the Golden Olive Tree Award for Career Achievement, with two retrospectives, a photography exhibition and a masterclass all organised in their honour. Also enlivening this year’s edition of the festival will be Nino Frassica, Paola Minaccioni and Alessandro Siani, to whom the New Italian Comedy section is dedicated, while two important prizes will be awarded, firstly to the journalist, politician and writer, Luciana Castellina, for her contributions to culture and to European cinema, and secondly, to the film producer Fulvio Lucisano for his contribution to Italian film.

Twelve European titles will battle it out for the Cristina Soldano Award for Best Film, which will be awarded by a jury led by Marco Müller: Blind Spot [+lire aussi :
