The much-lauded Swiss-born, Bavarian-raised TV and film director Hans Steinbichler (Hierankl – A Birthday to Remember, My Mother, My Bride and I, The Diary of Anne Frank [+lire aussi :

fiche film]) is currently overseeing post-production on Hannes, an adaptation of Rita Falk's bestseller of the same name by first-time screenwriter Dominikus Steinbichler. The film was shot in and around Munich, as well as in Italy and Spain, from 10 October-26 November 2018. Concorde Filmverleih is planning to release it in Germany on 21 November this year. 

Hannes, described as a story about friendship, loss and parting, adventure, and the love of life, revolves around two 19-year-old friends, Moritz (Leonard Scheicher, recently seen in the superb The Silent Revolution [+lire aussi :

fiche film]) and Hannes (Johannes Nussbaum), who have been inseparable ever since they were born. However, all of this radically changes one day when an accident befalls the two best mates as they are riding their motorbikes together – an incident that leads to Hannes being seriously injured, plunging him into a long-term coma. As Moritz is convinced that Hannes will pull through, he decides to keep on living life as his best friend would have done... 

The film, also starring Lisa Vicari, Heiner Lauterbach, Hannelore Elsner, Jeanette Hain, Gabriela Maria Schmeide, Roland Schreglmann and Klaus Steinbacher, is being produced by Nils Dünker for his company Lailaps Pictures, in co-production with StudioCanal (which is also managing the movie’s international sales) and ARD Degeto, with backing from the FFF Bayern and the Bavarian Bank Fund, as well as the German Federal Film Board FFA and the German Federal Film Fund DFFF.
