. The Italian-naturalised Turkish director has once again called upon actor Stefano Accorsi – also the protagonist of Ignorant Fairies in 2001 and Saturn in Opposition in 2007 – flanked, this time around, by Edoardo Leo and Jasmine Trinca. Starring alongside them in the cast are Filippo Nigro and the ever-faithful Serra Yilmaz. Having kicked off on 15 May, with photography coming courtesy of Gianfilippo Corticelli, filming will come to an end in mid-July and will unfold across Roma and Palermo. Ozpetek very recently shared a selfie of himself and the entire cast of the movie on Instagram.

Written by the director himself in league with Silvia Ranfagni and Gianni Romoli (the latter a collaborator of Ozpetek’s ever since Ignorant Fairies), The Goddess of Fortune tells the tale of Alessandro and Arturo, a couple who have been together for over 15 years but who now find themselves at crisis point. The unexpected arrival of two children in their lives, entrusted to them for a few days by Alessandro’s best friend could, however, give their tired routine the unhoped for boost it so badly needs. It may sound like an act of folly, but, as argued in the production notes, "love itself is a state of enjoyable madness”.

The set design is that of Giulia Busnengo, while costumes come courtesy of Monica Gaetani and Alessandro Lai. The music is the work of Pasquale Catalano once again, and editing is in the hands of Pietro Morana. As always, Tilde Corsi and Gianni Romoli are producing on behalf of R&C Produzioni, with Faros Film and Warner Bros. Ent. Italia. The film will be released in Italy this November by Warner Bros. Pictures and is sold by True Colours, who already kicked off the movie’s sales back in May at the Cannes Marché du Film (read our news).
