The Slovenian Film Centre has announced the winners of its most recent competition for the production of feature-length fiction, documentary and debut fiction films.

Slobodan Maksimović, known for the local hit Thanks for Sunderland [+lire aussi :

(2016), received the largest amount, €550,000, for Beanie, which is being produced through Senca Studio.

Ivan Gergolet, whose Dancing with Maria [+lire aussi :

premiered in the Venice Critics’ Week in 2014 and won the Premio Cinematografico "Civitas Vitae prossima" Award, later securing a nomination for the European Film Awards, secured €398,500 for The Man Without Guilt, a Staragara production.

Two debut-feature projects by women filmmakers have also received funding: €349,981 are going to Rahela Jagrič Pirc's The Space Within Us (Arsmedia) and €96,000 to Maja Prelog's Cent’anni (Cvinger Film).

Finally, two feature-length documentaries have been awarded grants: Igor Vrtačnik is getting €61,400 for the Film Horizont production Skozi moje oči (lit. “Through My Eyes”), and €50,000 go to Jurij Gruden's Senca Studio production Iza bitne zavese (lit. “Behind the Byte Curtain”).

The full amount of allocated grants is €2,485,881.
