Surrounded by an enormous wall, the nation has become entirely self-sufficient. The fortunate inhabitants enjoy a life of well-being and safety. However, when there’s an outbreak of a fatal disease, they soon find themselves trapped behind the very wall that was built to protect them.
Budgeted at 95 million Norwegian crowns (approx. €9.5 million), The Fortress is being produced by Synnøve Hørsdal and Ales Ree for Oslo-based outfit Maipo Film. It also received a 5 million Norwegian crowns (approx. €500,000) grant from the Norwegian Film Institute. The cast is yet to be disclosed.
