Ratte-Polle will be stepping into the shoes of psychotherapist Ina, who is too busy with her clients and her rebellious daughter to follow up on her own physical problems and needs. She is under pressure from all sides: there are her clients in the practice, her daughter (Drinda) threatens to go to live with her father and Ina's ex-husband (Hien), her boyfriend (Jucker) wants to immigrate with her to Finland, and her mother (Willenbacher) needs help to organise her 70th birthday party. It seems there is no place for Ina in this life. She wants to please everyone, but it is simply not possible.

The film is a co-production between the DFFB, Zeitgeist Filmproduktion and ZDF/Das kleine Fernsehspiel. It is being funded by the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg.
