Following the success of Me Contro Te, the YouTube-based children’s entertainers who moved into film, became box office champions and recently won a David di Donatello Audience Award, another pair of YouTubers loved by younger viewers are attempting the same feat by making the leap from computer monitor to big screen. The pair in question are DinsiemE, a.k.a. Erick Parisi and Dominick Alaimo, whose YouTube channel aimed primarily at children between 5- and 10-years old boasts upwards of 1.5 million subscribers. in which they play the lead – and which is based upon the book of the same name written by the duo (published by Salani in 2021, with over 100,000 copies sold) - has only just kicked off in Roccasinibalda (Rieti) in the Lazio region.

, Shortcut and The Boat), while Lotus Production (Leone Film Group) are producing the film in association with Medusa Film, who are also distributing the film in cinemas.

The screenplay was penned by DinsiemE themselves. The story is as follows: while holed up indoors, bored on a rainy day, DinsiemE receive a mysterious package containing a video game, “Il viaggio leggendario”, which sucks them into another dimension known as Leggendaria. Separated following a clash with the evil Doctor Timoti, the two learn to act according to the logic of video game levels rather than the usual laws of physics. During their journey, they stumble upon the courageous Princess Ginevra and the philosopher Plato who help them to face up to Sir Romualdo and Captain Sarrangia. Erick and Dominick realise they must defeat Doctor Giniu, Doctor Timoti’s brother, who seeks to overthrow Romeo and Isabella, DinsiemE’s twins and the legitimate sovereigns of Leggendaria, in a challenge which takes place in the Royal Palace, on the game’s very last level.

The cast stars Herbert Ballerina playing Sir Romualdo, Sofia Iacuitto (Ginevra), Gianni Franco (Plato), Riccardo Cicogna (Captain Sarrangia), Ladislao Liverani (King Artù). Photography is entrusted to Donato Sileo, set design to Tiziana Liberotti, costumes to Magda Accolti Gil and editing to Jacopo Reale.

After this first week in the Lazio region, the film set will transfer to Castle Papadopoli Giol in San Polo di Piave, in the province of Treviso, before moving on to Balsorano (Aquila) in Abruzzo for a week and then returning to the Lazio region for the final weeks of shooting in Ariccia, Nepi and Rome.
