In the words of the directors, "our mothers were our inspiration for this film: someone who is very close, yet so unknown. We assume that their life is fulfilled, and that what makes them feel alive belongs to the past - not the present. Whether they have given birth or not, middle-aged women are archetypically perceived by society as mothers. But - what do they long for? What do they dream about? Through this film, we wanted to explore the hidden lives of middle-aged women and search for their true identities. Have You Seen This Woman? is a doppelgänger fairytale about the human need for happiness and belonging."

The film was produced by Serbian outfit Non-Aligned Films and Croatian company Dinaridi Film, with support from Radio Television of Serbia and the Faculty of Dramatic Arts Belgrade. The cast features Croatian actress Ksenija Marinković in the main role of Draginja, and includes regional stars such as Jasna Djuričić, Goran Bogdan, Boris Isaković, Isidora Simijonović, Ivana Vuković and the late Vlasta Velisavljević in supporting roles. The film, previously known as Metamorphoses, was presented in Thessaloniki International Film Festival’s Agora Works in Progress in 2019, where it won the Graal Post-production Award. It also participated in the First Cut Lab RE-ACT 2021 and the First Cut+ Karlovy Vary 2021 workshops.

The poster has been designed by Serbian designer Marko Vuleta Djukanov, also known as Floating Bstrd. Following the film’s doppelgänger essence, it is presented in two variations: a black-and-white and a color one. About the poster, the directors said: “We wanted to explore the multiple identities hidden in the main character of our film. Some of them are gentle and calming, while other ones might be scary and disorienting. The combination of the pink color and a playful childish look with something that's grotesque and unknown will hopefully attract the audience and encourage people to explore their inner desires.“
