As in every year, the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival aims to connect up-and-coming talents with established professionals from Turkey and abroad in the famous Mediterranean resort city. Running 1-8 October, the 59^th edition of the festival is organised with the support of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and is hosted by the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality. Ahmet Boyacıoğlu assumes the role of festival director and Başak Emre that of artistic director.

Ten titles (from the 45-plus submitted) will be presented in the National Feature Film Competition, with six of them set to have their world premieres in Antalya. The jury will be chaired by director, producer and scriptwriter Yeşim Ustaoğlu, and further comprises actor-director Ahmet Mümtaz Taylan, screenwriter-director Azra Deniz Okyay, musician Harun Tekin, poet Haydar Ergülen, actress Nurgül Yeşilçay, and cinematographer Uğur İçbak. Together, they will determine the winners across 14 categories, whose prizes boast a total value of TL 840,000 (€47,000) and include an award for Best Film and Best First Film.

Ten films hailing from various countries will participate in the 59^th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival’s International Feature Film Competition. Actress Anamaria Marinca, actor Jean-Marc Barr, film curator and critic Nikolaj Nikitin, Arte France Cinéma director Olivier Père, and director and screenwriter Valdimar Jóhannsson have been selected for the jury. Last but not least, ten films have been selected to compete in the National Documentary Film Competition, weighed up by a jury consisting of director-screenwriter Ceylan Özgün Özçelik and documentary-makers Elif Ergezen and Hilmi Etikan. The documentaries in question are 23 Cents Soldier by Mümin Barış (Turkey/South Korea), A Strange Sight to Behold: The Van Lake Monster by Behçet Güleryüz, Drifting by Somnur Vardar, Duet by Ekin İlkbağ and İdil Akkuş, Hatice by Murat Erün, KAF KAF by Metin Dağ, The Miss by Mert Erez, What’s the Name of the Film? by Pınar Fontini, White Collar Peasants by Hazar Uyar, and Who is Mihri by Berna Gençalp. 12 shorts will also be going head-to-head in the National Short Film Competition, vying for the Best Film Award and the Special Jury Prize.
