The sixth, hybrid edition of Kids Kino Industry has wrapped after having run from 27-29 September, although it will continue for its last digital day today. Yesterday, the winning projects were announced during a ceremony held at Kinoteka in Warsaw, presented by Maciej Jakubczyk, head of the Kids Kino International Film Festival, and Zosia Horszczaruk, head of industry (see the interview). The pitching and co-production forum for feature films and series (encompassing live-action titles, animations and documentaries) showcased 27 projects (see the news).

The CeTA (Audiovisual Technology Center) Special Award, which includes 30,000 PLN (€6,200) for co-production in in-kind contributions, went to the Polish live-action feature film Tosia, written by Wojciech Janik and produced by Wojciech Stuchlik for Warsaw-based Film Production Wojciech Stuchlik. The story follows a young angel who is on Earth to help people before Christmas and who discovers the beauty of being human. The project was developed at the Kids Kino Lab under the guidance of Philip LaZebnik and Ronald Kruschak.

The ORKA Production Award, valued at 15,000 PLN (€31,00) in supporting services from ORKA Production intended for fundraising for the co-production of a project with Poland, went to the Latvian live-action flick Secrets of the Great Bog, written by Līga Gaisa, and co-produced by her and Antra Gaile for Air Productions. In the film, the adventure starts when two adopted twin sisters befriend an invisible boy, and an exciting quest in a parallel universe begins. The other award provided by ORKA Production is valued at 10,000 PLN (€2,050) for the development of one project, and it went to the Slovak live-action comedy film My World Upside Down, directed, co-written and co-produced by Daniel Rihák. It was also written by Ján Štiffel and Peter Gašparík, and was produced by the director along with Martina Sakova for WHAT IF Films. In a village, Miško discovers that his friends think he’s gay, and he needs to fix it without hurting the ones he loves.

The M:Brane Award, which includes a free accreditation for, and pitching opportunity at, the Swedish M:Brane event next March, was handed to the British live-action comedy-fantasy series Ghoul Friends, written by Catherine Wignall and produced by Reece Cargan (BOMBITO PRODUCTIONS). It follows a teen influencer, Mia, who puts her heart and soul on the line to save her ex-girlfriend from an angry ghost.

Finally, the CEE Animation Award, which includes a free accreditation for, and pitching opportunity at, CEE Animation, went to the Polish animated series Under the Floor, directed by Łukasz Kacprowicz, written by Justyna Bednarek and produced by Joanna Ronikier for Running Rabbit Films.
