FICXPro is the name of the programme for film industry professionals that the FICX (Gijón International Film Festival) has been organising since 2017 in co-production with Asturias Paraíso Natural Film Commission. In its sixth edition (14-18 November), its programme focused on distribution and co-production in the field of independent film and sustainability in the film industry.

It is also the space where the films selected for Semilleru Lab, a laboratory for projects in development and post-production, are screened, focusing on works of an authorial nature, in keeping with the FICX programme and philosophy, which is always committed to new perspectives and ways of making films. Semilleru is an Asturian word that refers to sowing and germination: something that comes from another fruit and generates a completely new entity.

The Jury of the first Semilleru Lab for (Post)Production - made up of Christophe Mercier, Daria Voumard, Lucero Garzón and Milja Mikkola - has awarded the following: Post-Production Award (for a gross amount of €3,000) to Yo tenía una vida [+lire aussi :

fiche film], a film about a person in the process of social reintegration by the Canarian filmmaker Octavio Guerra. "We were moved by the social awareness of this film through the voice of an excluded community. The film portrays the struggle for dignity of a man marginalised in his world". This title also won the DCP Deluxe Semilleru Lab Award for (post)production, consisting of the creation of a DCP master of the finished film, valued at €6,000.

The OpenECAM award for post-production, which includes the possibility of using ECAM facilities (sets, materials, studios, technical equipment, etc.) free of charge to record and/or edit the winning work for 18 months, went to Los restos del pasar [+lire aussi :

fiche film], a docu-fiction set during the Andalusian Holy Week, directed by Luis Soto and Alfredo Picazo. This work also won the MECAS Award, Almost Finished Films Market at the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria International Film Festival, consisting of participating in its next edition, in 2023.

The Semilleru Lab Jury in the category of works in progress 2022 - made up of Elodie Mellado, Glenda Balucani and Mariano Llinás - has decided to award the Semilleru Lab Asturias Paraíso Natural Film Commission Award (for a gross amount of €2,000) to Los andares, a queer short film by Isa Luengo and Sofía Esteve. The Filmin award for the dissemination of a project, consisting of its participation in the Talents Lab of the Atlántida 2023 Festival, was won by Tres canciones, a feature film about contemporary youth disenchantment by Adrià Guxens.

LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial (an Asturian institution dedicated to the research and dissemination of new cultural forms) and the Semilleru Management selected an audiovisual project to complete a residency of a maximum length of 4 weeks, between February and March 2023, with access to LABoral's Production Centre and the available resources (digital production laboratory, audiovisual equipment, accommodation and technical support). The winner was Guía de confección sin patrón, a feature film about feminist advocacy by Asturian Carmen Menéndez.
