Les Shooting Stars sur le site de l'EFP

Maria Hofstäetter s’est révélée à l’attention internationale en jouant dans Dog Days (Hundstage), de Ulrich Seidl pour lequel elle a remporté le prix pour la Meilleure interprétation au Festival international de Gijon (Espagne). L’actrice a joué aussi dans Poppitz, un clip publicitaire de grand succès tourné par Harald Sicheritz, dans Wolfzeit de Michael Haneke, Twinni de Ulrike Schweiger et Hurensohn de Michael Sturminger. La comédienne est connue aussi pour son travail au théâtre, pour lequel elle a gagné un prix international pour Die Präsidentinnen de Werner Schwab.

«My last film was a big challenge, because I played a mentally handicapped girl. And when we were shooting the film nobody knew that I only was acting. All my colleagues thought that I really was handicapped - and this for four months! My main work is independent theatre in Austria. I act and produce in a small theatre-group and sometimes I work in films. I'm very interested in non-commercial films, in auteur-films... that's what I want to do.
