scheda film] which had its world premiere at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. He is currently producing a TV series, Cold Courage, for Viaplay. He has been selected as one of the 2019 Producers on the Move by European Film Promotion.

European Film Promotion: Which is the film you are most proud of and why?
Cormac Fox: I am proud of all of our films and all for quite different reasons. For example, I am very proud of The Young Offenders which we shot on a tiny budget and became the fastest Irish film to break €1m at the box office in 2016. We are now producing a spin-off TV series for BBC. I find the project's success inspiring and it shows that you can make films on any budget level with the right combination of talent and energy.

What are the challenges and merits of producing in your country?
Ireland is a very attractive country to film in. I am very lucky to be producing here. Our government agencies such as Screen Ireland are extremely supportive. Our S481 tax credit is one of the most competitive in the world. Our cast and crew are world-class and have a great deal of experience working on both low-budget independent and high-budget Hollywood films and TV projects. The countryside offers a great range of landscapes within quite short travel times. The downside is that because Ireland is a very attractive shooting location, the Industry is very busy at present, and therefore it can be challenging to secure the top crew and talent for your project. The other downside is the rather unpredictable nature of the Irish weather! 

What are your expectations in Cannes as one of the Producers on the Move?
I am very much looking forward to meeting my fellow Producers On The Move and learning more about their projects and experiences with a view to building relationships and partnerships. I also looking forward to presenting my projects to the group, as well as to the financiers and experts we will meet and the networking opportunities that will arise from that. 

What are your next projects?
We are currently shooting an international thriller series Cold Courage that will complete principal photography in June. We also begin principal photography on Series 2 & 3 of our BBC comedy series The Young Offenders which will wrap in September. We currently have an active slate of feature film and television projects in development including Sarajevo Calling - an incredible true story about a Bosnian musician's journey to save his country by competing in the Eurovision song contest during the Bosnian War in 1993.
