La quinta generazione di Emerging Producers a Jihlava

The fifth edition of Emerging Producers, a flagship industry project of the Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival and the only one of its kind designed for documentary film producers in Europe, was presented yesterday at the festival's DIOD venue. 

The main objective of the programme is to interconnect talented European producers with other film professionals, as well as providing the participants with access to information and giving them a more solid grounding in the film market; another goal is to help them establish contacts with producers from other countries.

At the Jihlava event, each of the participants introduced themselves and the projects they are currently working on. However, although this year's edition has introduced some newcomers on the scene, more numerous are the young producers with one or two well-known titles.

These include Italy's Marco Alessi, whose latest production The Challenge [+leggi anche:

As Jihlava's head of industry, Jarmila Outratova, explained, in the official publication of the project, they tried to present not only the producers and their work, but also give a feeling of their personalities, listing their favourite films and other influences, such as music and literature, and even their favourite colours and animals that they find representative of themselves.
