scheda film]), Acht Tage is structured in eight parts. The cast includes well-known German actors such as Christiane Paul, Mark Waschke, Fabian Hinrichs, Devid Striesow, Nora Waldstätten, Henry Hübchen, and Lena Klenke.

As a gigantic meteor moves closer to earth, ordinary people try to prepare for the catastrophe, and with the centre of Europe as the impact zone, all European citizens are trying to escape. A physics teacher and his wife want to head to Siberia, but the borders to the East are closed. Her brother works for the government, and hopes that he and his pregnant wife will be flown out to the U.S. but he has issues with leaving his father and sister behind. While one of the kids’ best friends seeks refuge in a bunker that her violent father built, a policeman tries to maintain order. But everything boils down to the question of what really matters in life.

The scripts for the series were penned by Peter Kocyla, Benjamin Seiler and producer Rafael Parente, who runs Munich-based production outfit Neuesuper together with Simon Amberger and Korbinian Dufter. Commissioned by German broadcaster Sky, the series is receiving production support from Medienboard Berlin Brandenburg, FFF Bayern and the German Motion Picture Fund. In order to qualify for the Green Shooting Card that is given out inGermany by the Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein, the crew is following best practices for sustainable film and TV. The shooting of Acht Tage is taking place in and around Berlin as well as in Bavaria until mid-October. Sky will release the drama series in autumn 2018.
