Under the blazing Provence sun, the shoot has just kicked off for the second feature by Belgian-based US filmmaker John Shank, Pompéi, a film he has written and is co-directing with Anna Falguères.
Shank rose to prominence in 2011 with his feature debut, Last Winter [+leggi anche:

The cast of that film, produced by Tarantula, included actor Vincent Rottiers, flanked by Anaïs Demoustier, Florence Loiret Caille, Michel Subor and Aurore Clément. Pompéi follows the fortunes of Victor and his little brother Jimmy, who manage to get by in an environment where their romantic misfortunes seem to be never-ending. The arrival of Billie and her unbridled romanticism shake both of the boys’ beliefs to the core.

The movie, filming for which began at the end of last week and will continue until the end of September in the South of France, is being produced by Tarantula in Belgium, which staged Shank’s debut film. It is being co-produced by Good Fortune Film in France and micro-scope in Canada.
