 follows the encounter between a prostitute, Fae (Fatou N'Diaye), and a world-famous athlete, Thierry (Vincent Rottiers). During his holiday in Senegal, he falls head over heels for the beautiful African woman. They find dignity and hope in each other as they strive to overcome their troubles. But more important than these mutual desires, they find love.

This is what Koen Mortier depicts in his third feature, Angel, based on the acclaimed novel Monologue of Someone Who Got Used to Talking to Herself by renowned Belgian author Dimitri Verhulst and set to have its international premiere at the 43rd Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), in the Contemporary World Cinema section. , also premiered at TIFF in 2010. Angel was produced by Belgium’s CZAR Film with Anonymes Films and the Netherlands’ Graniet Film, and with the support of the VAF/Flanders Audiovisual Fund, the Netherlands Film FundScreen Brussels and Screen Flanders.
