When bit-part actor Emil and a ravishing French dancer named Milou (played by newcomers Dennis Mojen and Emilia Schüle) meet on a sound stage during a production at the DEFA studios, it is clear that they are meant for each other, but then the border is closed on 13 August and construction begins on the Berlin Wall. The lovers are seemingly separated forever, and it is unlikely that they will ever see each other again, until Emil hatches a crazy plan to be reunited with his beloved Milou.
The script was written by Arend Remmers (also the author of Schreier's CRO: Don’t Believe the Hype). Traumfabrik is being produced by a former DEFA employee, Tom Zickler (whose own story inspired Markus Goller's Friendship! [+leggi anche:

It is the first production by the newly created outfit Traumfabrik Babelsberg, in co-production with Babelsberg Film, TOBIS Filmproduktion, Pantaleon Films, ARRI Media, herbX Film and Funkhaus Berlin. The film, shot in Berlin, Potsdam and the historic studios, was supported by the German Film Board (FFA) and the regional funding institutions Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, MFG Baden-Württemberg and FFF Bayern.
The cast also includes Ken Duken, Nikolai Kinski, Ellenie Salvo Gonzalez and the German TV Ballet. They were all dressed by Gabrielle Reumer (a regular on Schweiger's movies, also known for international festival films such as Feo Aladag's Inbetween Worlds [+leggi anche:
