The story, written by Pierre Jolivet with contributions from Éric Combernous and Marie-Carole Ifi, revolves around Victor and Ben, two thirty-somethings who plan on opening their own hairdressing salon. But their dream soon comes to a sudden end. Determined to pursue his quest for freedom and independence, Victor manages to convince Célia, whom he met when they were still at hairdressing college, to team up with him on the venture. While juggling their respective jobs, all the paperwork, the regulations, the debts, family… and past romantic infatuations that start to resurface, the two young partners must join forces to overcome all the obstacles and attempt to see their project of a lifetime through to the end…

Produced by Xavier Rigault and Marc-Antoine Robert (a European Film Promotion Producer on the Move in 2008) for 2.4.7. Films, Victor et Célia has secured a co-production by Apollo Films (which will take care of the French distribution), pre-purchases by Canal+ and Ciné+, plus support from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region (where the six-week shoot took place), as well as from the La Banque Postale Image and Palatine Étoile Soficas. The feature will be sold internationally by Be For Films.
