The rich programme also includes a documentary competition, a short film competition and panorama, a meeting with the Spanish documentary filmmaker José Luis Guerin, a night of genre films, and a section on Mediterranean film masterpieces.

The 40th Mediterranean Film Festival is also organising an industry event from 23 to 25 October – Cinemed Meetings – which Cineuropa will cover in more detail at a later date – this year’s focus is on young Lebanese cinema.
