The 37th Brussels International Fantasy, Fantastic, Thriller and Science Fiction Film Festival came to a close over the Easter weekend with the announcement of its winners’ list – and three European films stand proud on the podium. Although the top prize, the Golden Raven, was handed to the Australian movie Little Monsters by Abe Forsythe, the Silver Raven was bestowed upon the Irish comedy-horror Extra Ordinary by Mike Ahern and Enda Loughman, in which a driving instructor uses her supernatural abilities to save a girl whom a rock star is trying to use for his own Satanic purposes. The film was produced by Irish outfit Blinder Films, and was co-produced by Umedia in Belgium.
Meanwhile, the Polish film Werewolf [+leggi anche:

The historical horror flick revolves around a group of Polish children who have survived the concentration camps and will be forced to overcome sheer horror once again. The movie was produced by Balapolis (Poland), Twenty Twenty Vision Filmproduktion (Germany) and House of Netherhorror (Netherlands).
Lastly, an Italian picture prevailed in the Méliès Competition, thus qualifying for the Golden Méliès, which will be handed out by the European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation in Sitges next October. I Am Back [+leggi anche:

Miniero plays with the theme by imagining the return of Mussolini, who discovers an incredible propaganda tool that he can put to use to promote his fascist theories: the television… The film was produced by Italy’s Indiana Production Company.
