Just a few days away from the opening of the 72^nd Cannes Film Festival (14-25 May 2019), the identity of the chair of the Caméra d'Or jury has been made public. It will be none other than Cambodian filmmaker Rithy Panh, whose career to date has led him to take part in the Cannes Official Selection seven times: in competition with Rice People in 1994, out of competition with S21: The Khmer Rouge Death Machine in 2003 and The Burnt Theatre in 2005, in Un Certain Regard with One Evening After the War in 1998 and The Missing Picture [+leggi anche:

scheda film] in 2011. He thus follows in the footsteps of last year’s Caméra d'Or jury chair, Swiss director Ursula Meier.
