The French international sales company Indie Sales will be turning up for tomorrow’s Marché du Film at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival (running 14 to 25 May) with a solid line-up of ten titles tucked confidently under its arm. The team which is helmed by Nicolas Eschbach (who is now supported by Florencia Gil) and which recently opened a Belgian subsidiary (Best Friend Forever) is banking on two trump cards in the form of two world premieres set to grace the Croisette: Summer of Changsha by Chinese director Zu Feng, screening in the Official Selection as part of the Un Certain Regard offering, and The Halt by Filippino filmmaker Lav Diaz (which will be distributed in France by ARP Sélection) within the Directors’ Fortnight.

scheda film] by French filmmaker Rémi Chayé, which will be pre-sold on the basis of its script and an exclusive promotional teaser. Discovered by way of Long Way North [+leggi anche:

scheda film] (winner of the Audience Award at Annecy 2015 and nominated at the 2017 Lumières Awards for Best Animated Film), the director delves into the USA of 1863, following in the wake of a young 12-year-old girl who will later become the legendary Calamity Jane. Pre-sold on the basis of its script and a promotional teaser, with the final product due to released in 2020, this feature film is produced by the French outfit Maybe Movies alongside Danish firm Nørlum.

Indie Sales will also be pre-selling three other titles on the basis of script and promo reels at the Marché du Film, though this time films of a post-production kind: the French-Belgian-Rwandan co-production Our Lady of The Nile, by Atiq Rahimi, Adventures of a Mathematician [+leggi anche:
