The International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) has handed out its prizes just a couple of hours before the unveiling of the award winners at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival. In the competition, the international critics’ trophy was bestowed upon It Must Be Heaven [+leggi anche:

scheda film] by Palestine’s Elia Suleiman. The feature, produced by France’s Rectangle Productions together with Nazira Films, the Doha Film Institute, Germany’s Pallas Film, Canada’s Possibles Média and Turkey’s Zeynofilm, is being sold by Wild Bunch.
In the Un Certain Regard selection, victory was claimed by Beanpole [+leggi anche:
scheda film], the second feature by young Russian prodigy Kantemir Balagov, for which Wild Bunch is also handling sales.
Lastly, the FIPRESCI Prize in the parallel sections was taken home by the US production The Lighthouse by Robert Eggers, which was presented in the Directors’ Fortnight.
