Interestingly, "Dífferent 12! L'autre cinéma espagnol" will pay tribute to thesp Sergi López, and a huge number of actors from the various films selected will also be attending the festivities.

The programme also includes a professional sidebar, as all of the features on the line-up (in addition to more recent Spanish-produced movies) will be presented to French distributors on 17 June at the Rendez-vous à l'Opéra! event organised by Ciné+ and Espagnolas en Paris. On 26 June, Small is Biútiful will unspool, offering French professionals a selection of Spanish projects in search of co-producing partners, distributors and international sales agents. Cineuropa will report on this event in more detail in the days to come. Incidentally, among the movies being showcased this year at "Dífferent 12! L'autre cinéma espagnol" are two features (Staff Only and Ana by Day) that took part in the 2013 iteration of Small is Biútiful.
