), Joséphine de la Baume, Mylène Jampanoï, Philippe Rebbot, Camille Razat, Franco-Irish actress Liah O'Prey, Alexandrina Turcan, Susann Carmen and Ildjima Masrangar.

Written by the director in collaboration with Patrick Rocher, the script is set in the late 1960s. Madame Claude reigns over Paris and beyond thanks to her thriving business. By reinventing the codes of prostitution, borrowing those of the bourgeoisie, and inventing a respectable past for herself, she has become a businesswoman feared and respected by everyone, from the world of business to that of organised crime. A woman of power in a field and a time that belongs to men, on the eve of the great movements for the liberation of women, she will also be witness to the end of an era. But she will meet Sidonie, her opposite in every way, but also her alter ego — an encounter that will lead to the crumbling of her empire…

Produced by Florence Gastaud for Les Compagnons du Cinéma (a company she founded with Michel Hazanavicius and Riad Sattouf), Madame Claude is co-produced by TNG Productions and by Wild Bunch. Pre-bought by OCS and Ciné+, the feature also benefits from the support of the Ile-de-France region and of Sofica Sofitvcine. The shoot, which began on May 2, took place in Paris, in Ile-de-France, and in Nice, with Léo Hinstin (nominated for a Lumières award in 2016 for his work on Nocturama [+leggi anche:

Adapted from the novel by Jean-Claude Grumberg, the film will be directed by Hazanavicius, with Les Films du Fleuve from Belgium involved as minority co-producers, Prima Linea as producers, and StudioCanal already handling the film’s French distribution and international sales.
