by Ivaylo Hristov. The film follows four high-school friends as a famous rock band arrives in town. Penniless teenager Koko becomes determined to finally win Elena’s love by finding a way to get her a concert ticket. On its festival run in 2015, the film, distributed by Films2c, screened at San Sebastián, Moscow (winning three prizes), Giffoni and Zlín, also picking up a bunch of accolades at home, including Best Film at the Bulgarian Film Academy Awards and the Sofia Film Festival.

Also in September, US audiences will get two exclusive releases from Artsploitation Films. Finnish filmmaker Joonas Makkonen's Bunny the Killer Thing (2015) is a slasher-horror-comedy about a group of Finnish and British tourists who get stuck in a cabin when they are attacked by a creature that is half-human, half-rabbit.

Horror Stories (2012) is a South Korean anthology horror film, in which a high-school girl is abducted and forced by a psycho to tell him the scariest tales she knows. It was directed by Im Dae-woong, Jung Bum-sik, Hong Ji-young, Kim Gok, Kim Sun and Min Kyu-dong.

In addition, this autumn, Spamflix will be present at the Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas; the Brooklyn Horror Fest; and the Sitges Film Festival, handing out film coupons for people to use on its platform. Those who can’t attend the festivals can win film coupons by playing Spamflix’s weekly trivia games on the platform.

Lastly, with the start of the academic year imminent, Spamflix will hold contests for written reviews of their films, starting with film students at Bologna University. The writers of the best reviews will win film coupons and have their work published on Spamflix.

Spamflix is co-financed by the Lisboa 2020 programme of the ERDF European Fund.
