This time, the filmmaker will be adapting a novel by Alexeï Salnikov and the film will follow a day in the life of a comic book artist and his family, in post-Soviet Russia. Suffering from an intense bout of flu, Petrov is carried by his friend Igor into a long, drunken walk between dream and reality. Petrov’s childhood memories progressively resurface and merge with the present… Filming will take place in November and December, and the production is handled by French companies Logical Pictures and Charades Productions, Russian company Hype Film, German company Razor Film and Swiss company Bord Cadre.

Arte France Cinéma has also selected Titane, the second feature from Julia Ducournau (the talk of the Critics' Week at Cannes in 2016 with Raw [+leggi anche:

), which will star Vincent Lindon and Agathe Rousselle. Written by the director, the script opens on an airport where custom inspectors pick up a young man with a bruised face. He claims his name to be Adrien Legrand, a child who disappeared ten years ago. For Vincent, his father, this marks the end of a long nightmare and he brings him home. Simultaneously, a series of gruesome murders places the region under pressure. Alexia, model in a car showroom, has all the characteristics of the ideal victim… Handled by Kazak Productions (France) with Frakas (Belgium), the film also benefits from the advance on earnings from the CNC and from the Ile-de-France region. It has already been pre-sold to Neon for North America, by Wild Bunch International. Filming will take place in April and May 2020.

Arte France Cinéma’s selection also includes Viens je t’emmène, a "comedy" from Alain Guiraudie which will be shot in December, starring Noémie Lvovsky, Jean-Charles Clichet and Ilies Kadri. Written by the director together with Laurent Lunetta, the script begins in Clermont-Ferrand, on Christmas Eve. A terrorist attack plunges the city in a panic. In this tragic atmosphere, Médéric, a young man in his thirties, falls madly in love with Isadora, an older prostitute. But the collective paranoïa will soon threaten their new union… This will be the filmmaker’s 6th feature, after No Rest for The Brave [+leggi anche:
