Simultaneously, a series of gruesome murders puts the region under pressure. Pre-bought by Arte, Canal+, Ciné+, the feature also benefits from the support of the advance on receipts from the CNC, of the Ile-de-France and Sud regions, and of Eurimages. French distribution will be handled by Diaphana, and international sales by Wild Bunch.

scheda film] from Yassine Qnia, currently filming (with Soufiane Guerrab and Souheila Yacoub in the lead roles), centres on thirty-something Mehdi as he tries to rebuild his relationship with Sarah, but who for the moment has nothing else to suggest except returning to live with him at his mother’s (production: Pascal Caucheteux for Why Not).

scheda film] by Andrés Ramírez Pulido, meanwhile, will begin filming next spring and will tell the story of Eliu, incarcerated in an experimental centre for juvenile offenders. In the middle of the Colombian jungle, among other young detainees, they restore a hacienda that looks more like a golden cage — these teenagers evolve in a luxurious but hostile environment. As he is repenting for his mistakes, Eliu learns that his younger brother is in danger because of him and fears he may reproduce the same cycle of violence that led him to detention. Anger overwhelms him once again… The production is overseen by Jean-Etienne Brat and Lou Chicoteau for Alta Rocca Films with Valiente Gracia in co-production. French distribution and international sales are handled by Pyramide.

It is worth noting that the Special Prize of the Gan Foundation was given this year to the second part of Pierre-Henri Gibert’s L’Image originelle, in which international filmmakers talk about their formative experience making their first film.
