Eight projects were selected at the 2nd 2020 session of the CNC’s second advance on receipts committee. Standing out among them is Incroyable Mais Vrai which will be the 9th feature film by Quentin Dupieux after, among other titles, Rubber [+leggi anche:

Incroyable Mais Vrai is set to star Alain Chabat, Léa Drucker, Benoît Magimel and Anaïs Demoustier. The script centres on Alain and Marie as they move to the banlieue house of their dreams. But the real estate agent did warn them: whatever is in the basement may very well change their lives… Handled by Atelier de Production, the feature film already has the support of the Ile-de-France region. French distribution will be handled by Diaphana and international sales by WTFilms.

An advance on receipts has also been granted to L’origine du mal by Sébastien Marnier (revealed with Faultless [+leggi anche:

in the Sconfini section of the Venice Film Festival in 2018) which will be produced by Avenue B Productions, Les cinq diables by Léa Mysius (the filming of which had to be pushed back due to the health crisis - read the news - production : Trois Brigands and F comme Film) and Sans retour by Davy Chou (which will be the second feature from the director first revealed in Cannes’ Critics’ Week in 2016 with Diamond Island [+leggi anche:

) which will be produced by Aurora Films.

Also supported by the CNC are Normale, the fourth feature from Olivier Babinet, after two works unveiled in Cannes’ ACID section in 2010 and 2016 (the fiction film Robert Mitchum est mort [+leggi anche:

which was also nominated at the César awards) and Fishlove [+leggi anche:

which will be released in French cinemas on 2 September. Production is handled by Haut et Court with Belgian company Tarantula in co-production, Eurimages and Wallimage already being involved.

Advance on receipts also for Dans la chambre du sultan from veteran Spanish filmmaker Javier Rebollo (Paraiso Productions) and for two documentaries: Les filles d’Olfa by Kaouther Ben Hania (Tanit Films) and Là où vivent les sirènes by Renaud Barret (Nynamor Films).

It is worth noting that four feature debut projects have also been selected at the 2nd 2020 session of the CNC’s first advance on receipts committee: Rascals by Jimmy Laporal-Trésor (produced by Spade – a company headed by Manuel Chiche - and by Agat Films), Les tempêtes by Dania Reymond-Boughenou (Les Films de l’autre Cougar), Trois nuits par semaine by Florent Gouelou (Yukunkun Productions) and Tropiques by Édouard Salier (Rezo Productions).
