“As a platform dedicated to offering the best of European film, we at Filmin are delighted to have this opportunity to work together with Roskino on this exceptional initiative, which really allows us to reassert our commitment to innovative cinema with a strong personality. Modern Russian films have the necessary potential and ambition to get through to Spain’s general public, and we will channel all of our dedication and effort into making this a reality,” states Joan Sala, programmer and editorial coordinator at Filmin.

Roskino is the government office responsible for marketing the international image of the Russian film industry and is the only company that promotes the country’s cinematic art on the international level. Its primary mission is to help Russian filmmakers with their commercial releases abroad, hence why it promotes national movies within the international film industry, operating at festivals and awards ceremonies, as well as at markets. Likewise, its tasks include public relations and marketing, market research, the distribution of Russian content, preparing for film festivals and markets, attracting and facilitating co-productions and investment in the country, fostering dialogue with the international community, discovering and supporting talent, and working with universities – both in Russia and abroad – in order to bolster the Russian film infrastructure.
