Larsen is primarily known for her work as a writer on award-winning and acclaimed TV series including Borgen, Follow the Money and The Legacy. The eight-part series Cry Wolf is her first show as a creator.

The jury comprised Israeli Emmy Award-winning producer Ran Tellem (Homeland), who also serves as the head of International Content Development at The Mediapro Studio; Denmark’s Felicia Elisabeth Jackson, festival director of THIS - Future Stories & Engagement and Aarhus Series; and Swedish actor Evin Ahmad (Beyond Dreams [+leggi anche:

). They picked the winner of the competition, which also included Finland’s Cargo, Iceland’s Sisterhood, Sweden’s Thin Blue Line and Norway’s Welcome to Utmark.

The jury statement reads: “We are immersed in a time when we are being bombarded with content, so we looked for a unique story. This one was super-smart, super-intelligent and had complex characters – who seem normal and dysfunctional at the same time. There is no black and white in this show. The characters contain both good and evil. The series pilot tells the story but leaves you with so much unanswered that you want to watch the rest. It questions you as a viewer. What should you believe? You both love and hate each character. We believe them all, but they can’t all be telling the truth. It is complicated but gripping, and this is why we have television!”

Cry Wolf tells the intense and emotional story of a teenage girl who has written a vivid school essay detailing her stepfather’s violent behaviour. The parents deny the accusations, but who is lying – and who is telling the truth?
