Having kicked off on 21 December, the nine-week film shoot enjoyed by Cédric Klapisch’s 14th fiction feature En corps has wrapped today in Paris. The focus of particular acclaim for When The Cat’s Away, Family Resemblances (which scooped three Césars in 1997, including the award for Best Screenplay), Pot Luck and Paris [+leggi anche:

, the director offered the lead role in his latest opus to Marion Barbeau (prima ballerina at the Paris Opera Ballet).

Written by the director alongside Santiago Amigorena (who is working with the filmmaker for the 5th time), the story homes in on 26-year-old Élise, a classical dancer of great promise who suffers an injury during a performance and subsequently learns she will no longer be able to dance. She tries her hand at a new profession, but eventually discovers she can forge a new path for herself in the field of contemporary dance.

En corps is produced by Bruno Levy on behalf of Ce Qui Me Meut, in co-production with France 2 Cinéma, as well as Studiocanal (who are also managing distribution in France and international sales). Pre-purchased by Canal+ and Ciné+, the feature film boasts the talented Alexis Kavyrchine as its director of photography (who scooped the 2021 César in his specialism for Bye Bye Morons [+leggi anche:

Cédric Klapisch and Ce Qui Me Meut will then crack on with the series Greek Salad for Amazon Prime Video, which is intended as a follow-up to the film trilogy comprising Pot Luck, The Russian Dolls [+leggi anche:

. Created by Cédric Klapisch, Lola Doillon and Antoine Garceau, the series will be set 20 years on from Pot Luck and will follow in the footsteps of Tom and Mia (Wendy and Xavier’s children) as they head off in the direction of a new adventure in Athens.
