, the first feature film by actor Jeroen Perceval, a harsh film about the unlikely friendship between two solitudes, those of a young drug dealer trying to build himself up on the ruins of toxic masculinity and of an old actor chasing after his lost youth and his dreams of glory.

Dealer won Best Film, but also Best Sound, Best Make-up, Best Screenplay, Best Art Direction, Best Music, Best Cinematography, Best Supporting Actor, and, nicely for Jeroen Perceval, Best Director.

Dealer is produced by Savage Film (Belgium), Tarantula (Belgium) and The Film Kitchen (Netherlands). Savage Film and its producer Bart Van Langendonck were already in the spotlight at the Ensors 2021, winning 7 awards for Tim Mielants' Patrick [+leggi anche:

On the series side, Soil and Hotel Beau Séjour 2 are leading the way. Film and television are two very porous sectors in Flanders when it comes to seeing talent navigate. Soil is directed by Mathieu Mortelmans, as well as the duo of Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who are just as successful in Belgium with films such as Black [+leggi anche:

as they are in the United States with Bad Boys for Life (a big box-office success) or the upcoming series Miss Marvel and Batgirl.

Finally, for the first time this year, the acting awards were mixed. Nabil Mallat received the Best Actor (Film) award for his role in Cool Abdoul, while Yassine Ouaich received the Best Performance in a Series award for Soil.
