was the winner at the Ibero-American audiovisual event held last Saturday in Xcaret-Riviera Maya (Mexico). With an avalanche of six Platino awards, it received the most statuettes at the 11th edition of these film and series awards in Spanish and Portuguese. "It is the most watched Spanish-language film in Netflix history", stated its Spanish director, Juan Antonio Bayona. As he accepted the award recognising his film as the Best Ibero-American Fiction Film and also as Best Director, he stressed that "rarely does an award fit better with a feature film shot in Argentina, Spain, Chile and Uruguay".

In addition to these awards for Society of the Snow, in technical categories, the awards for Best Editing (Jaume Martí, Andrés Gil), Cinematography (Pedro Luque) and Sound (Oriol Tarragó, Marc Orts, Jorge Adrados), as well as the award for Best Actor for the Uruguayan actor Enzo Vogrincic.

, a film which, with four awards (Best Fiction Debut Film, Best Screenplay for the work of its director Estíbaliz Urresola, and the Film and Values in Education Award), took second place among the most awarded films of an evening in which the Spanish audiovisual industry won 17 of the 23 awards.

  was crowned Best Animated Film and won the statuette for Best Original Score (composed by Alfonso de Vilallonga), while the Platino for Best Documentary went to Maite Alberdi's Chilean film La memoria infinita. The other film awards for Best Art Direction went to Rodrigo Bazaes for Pablo Larraín's Chilean film El Conde, and Best Ibero-American Comedy went to Gerardo Herrero's Spanish film Under Therapy [+leggi anche:

In the television categories, Argentina's Barrabrava won the award for Best Miniseries or TV Series, while the award for Best Series Creator went to his compatriot Daniel Burman for the second season of Iosi, el espía arrepentido.

The Platino Awards in the series acting categories went to Spain's Lola Dueñas for La Mesías [+leggi anche:

(Best Actress), as well as to Alfredo Castro in the male category for Los mil días de Allende, a historical fiction in which he plays the former Chilean president. Carmen Machi won the award for Best Supporting Actress for La Mesías, and Andy Chango went up to collect his statuette for Best Supporting Actor for El amor después del amor, a biopic of Fito Páez in which he gives life to another Argentinean rocker, Charly García.

The Platino Awards are promoted by  EGEDA (Audio-Visual Producers' Rights Management Association) with FIPCA, Ibero-American Federation of Film and Audiovisual Producers. They are supported by UN Tourism, ICAA, the Ibero-American Film Academies and Institutes, FIACINE, Madrid Film Office and WAWA. Each year, they bring together the talents of the industries in 23 Ibero-American countries to celebrate the most outstanding productions and creators.
