Shooting started yesterday in Berlin on Uli Edel’s new film, which marks his fourth collaboration with producer Bernd Eichinger (after Christiane F. in 1981, Last Exit to Brooklyn in 1989 and The Baader Meinhof Complex [+see also:

The film about German hip hop star Bushido is produced by Constantin Film and co-produced by Christian Becker for Rat Pack Filmproduktion. Co-written by Bushido and Eichinger, it will be entitled Zeiten Ändern Sich ("Times Are Changing").

The film traces the life of the rapper, whose real name is Anis Mohamed Youssef Ferchichi, from his youth as a drug-dealing school dropout to his gold and platinum-selling records. The star plays himself in the film and will provide the soundtrack.

) appears as the young Bushido, Moritz Bleibtreu as his friend and adviser Arafat and Hannelore Elsner as his mother.

Constantin is set to launch Zeiten Ändern Sich on German screens in February 2010.
